What the initiative is and why the organisation is doing it?

As part of its commitment to giving back, Singapore Computer Guys will be organising Tech for Community @ Zhenghua in November 2026, providing residents with complimentary IT support, basic computer repairs and digital guidance.

Through this initiative, the team hopes to use its IT expertise to make technology support more accessible to residents and help them stay connected in an increasingly digital world.

The initiative will focus on three key areas:

1. General IT Support & Consultation

Troubleshooting and practical advice for common technology issues.

2. General Hardware Repairs

Basic laptop and desktop repairs, including operating system issues and simple hardware fixes. Selected replacement components, such as SSDs and RAM, will also be sponsored where necessary.

3. Digital Literacy for Seniors 

Hands-on guidance to help seniors use smartphones, essential apps and digital services with greater confidence.

How the public can engage and participate

Residents can bring their laptops or desktop computers to Zhenghua Community Club, where the Computer Guys team will assess and assist with their devices where possible.

Seniors can also approach the team for one-to-one guidance on smartphones and everyday digital applications. All services under this initiative will be complimentary. 

Who are the beneficiaries?

The initiative is open to residents and families in Zhenghua, with particular focus on seniors who need digital guidance, students and families who rely on computers for learning, and residents who may benefit from complimentary basic IT support and repairs.

When it will take place

Between November to December 2026 at Zhenghua Community Club. The confirmed date and time will be announced closer to the event. 

What outcomes the organisation hopes to achieve

Through Tech for Community @ Zhenghua, Singapore Computer Guys hopes to make essential IT assistance more accessible, extend the lifespan of residents' devices and reduce the financial burden of basic repairs.

The initiative also aims to empower seniors with greater digital confidence and ensure that more residents can benefit from technology in their everyday lives.
